Gaffa Exhibits and Mindful Making Workshop

Gaffa Gallery will present ten multi-disciplinary craft practitioners across four galleries in its heritage-listed creative precinct.

Making in Pieces by Donna Sgro and Cecilia Heffer is a performative textile exhibition presents both finished and unfinished works, uncovering the stages of their making processes. They will perform their making processes daily from 12 – 16 October, 10am-2pm.

Pop Life by Nicole O’Loughlin is an exhibition of hand embroideries depicting pop icons from the 80s and 90s in humorous and witty compositions.

Hypersensitive/Hipsensitif  is a bi-cultural exploration through textile works by Soraya Abidin.

Man Cave by Peter Connelly, Morgan Dick, Beau Ziggy Abidin presents wood collages, hand painted leather and coaster art.

_spaces_collide by Jenny Du, Charlotte Richardson and Jessica McDermid is an exhibition of jewellery made from found objects that explores the artists’ experiences within their surrounding environments. 

Gaffa’s resident jewellery tutor Jenny Du will also be teaching how to recycle your junk into jewellery in her Mindful Making Workshop. Take this fun workshop to learn how to recycle your junk into jewellery! This workshop will help you to conceptualise your ideas, prepare your materials and make simple clasps and brooch backs. Materials will be provided, however feel free to bring along your own if you have a project in mind! Jenny Du is a jeweller who specialises in repurposing found and discarded objects into wearable jewellery.
