The Intuitive Thread presented by The Japan Foundation, Sydney

The Intuitive Thread  introduces four textile artists from across Japan re-interpreting traditional methods and exploring new forms of expression. These artists remain grounded in slow, disciplined age-old processes, while at the same time challenging convention. Dyed, woven, printed and sewn, the work of each of these artists reflects a respect for natural materials and a commitment to an enduring, living Japanese aesthetic.

Curated by Eloise Rapp, the exhibition features works by Chiharu Ohgomori of Takarajima Senkou, Masako Kikuchi, Chiho Sasaki of Sasaki Yohinten, and Misako Nakahira.

Details: Exhibition: Friday 24 August – Saturday 27 October; Open Monday – Thursday 10am – 8pm; Friday 10am – 6pm; Saturday 10am – 3pm (closed 6 October);
