Open Studio / Workshops / Studio Sales

Fibre artist/ felt-maker Gill Brooks is opening her studio to the public for a series of events over Craft Week, introducing the uninitiated into the wonder filled world of wool and the ancient art/ craft, with a modern twist, of felt making. Visitors can choose to immerse themselves in the process by taking a mini workshop, learn the basics, and take home a unique piece of "you" made felt. Materials and notes provided.

Learn how Gill has mastered her techniques over many decades and discovered ways to incorporate fabrics and yarn off-cuts and remnants into her work, maximising the use of recycled materials, minimising studio waste and creating an unusual and eclectic range of experimental textural pieces in the process.

Explore Gill's vast array of felt samples and experimental pieces, along with new work and take the opportunity to purchase a unique hand-felted piece from the maker.
