Denise McDonald mugs

Slab-building Workshop and Lino-printing Workshop

To celebrate Sydney Craft Week, we bring you a couple of workshops plus wall displays by emerging artists.

Workshop: Create an embossed mug with celebrated ceramicist Denise McDonald. You will be creating a beautiful mug using a technique Denise has perfected, known as slab building. You can bring your own objects to texture the clay such as doilies, leaves, buttons. Learn how to roll the slab, add your impressions, create a well‐sealed seam, then add a handle. As clay takes a long time to dry, Denise will glaze and fire your mug so you can pick it up in a couple of weeks. All materials included. Saturday 6 October, 3pm; Cost: $129; Bookings:

Craft Up Late Workshop: Create a tote bag with your own design, with printmaker, Maggie Stein. An inner west local, Maggie specialises in lino prints. Learn from Maggie’s 15 years of experience printing with lino, and create your own tote bag. You will learn how to carve your design by hand, then using specialised inks, create beautiful images, which will be transferred onto your own fabric tote bag. All materials included. Thursday 11 October, 5pm; Cost: $129; Bookings:
