The Art of Colouring Leather and The Art of Upcycling Leather

The Art of Colouring Leather: Learn the basic techniques of dyeing and marbling leather and leathercraft to create a journal cover and small coin or card pouch from sustainably sourced Australian leather. Cut, colour, stitch and set hardware on your own custom leather goods, learning how to transform a plain piece of vegetable tanned leather into a functional piece of art. Open to everyone from beginners to those with leather-craft experience who want to expand on their skills. All materials and tools are provided.

The Art of Upcycling Leather: Learn the basic techniques of leather refurbishment and conservation as well as leathercraft basics to transform an old object like a jacket, bag or cut up sofa into something new. Design, restore and transform used leather into an exciting alternative to landfill. Students are welcome to bring their old leather pieces along, all additional materials and tools are provided.
