A Coming of Age by Flora Friedmann

This exhibition marks twenty-one years since Flora Friedmann was bewitched by the craft and art of basket making. A Coming of Age, is symbolic of her growth and confidence in her skills. The mix of traditional and contemporary baskets exhibited are a result of the inspiration she has taken from many different cultures and makers.

Flora’s basketry journey began with workshops by renowned maker Virginia Kaiser, and today she shares her of love it through teaching, exhibiting and curating. Flora has been a part of Basketry NSW since its inception.

Exhibition 26 September – 28 October, Monday - Friday 9am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 2pm; Demonstrations 1, 8 and 22 October, 10am - 12.30pm; Talk 15 October, 11am - 12pm.
