Before and After
Textiles Sydney presents an exhibition exploring the theme of time through the lens of transformation. The transformation of raw materials into objects or the transformation of an existing object into something new. There is the time of making before the work is completed and there is the time after, when the work is out in the world to be used or exhibited. Sometimes the work is never completed, and it is always 'before' and sometimes the work is thrown away so there is never an 'after', but in both cases transformation has taken place, and this is at the heart of craft.
The exhibition opening will be held as part of Craft Up Late on Wednesday 11 October at 6pm.
