Elizabeth Calnan Textiles: Open Studio

Searching for your next fibre adventure? Here’s the chance to try weaving on an inkle loom, table looms, floor looms and compu-dobby looms, all threaded ready for new fibre enthusiasts. An experienced tutor gives guidance, and the advantages of different looms are discussed in the information session from 10-11am.

In the afternoon, spinners keen to create their own fibre combination as yarn can try a range of wheels including double treadle wheels of all sizes, with a discussion from 2-3pm. An exhibition of woven scarves, rugs and wraps demonstrates the magic of silk, camel, wool, cotton and various fibre combinations, where one can touch, feel and purchase items.
