Meroogal Drawing Room
This pop up exhibition is inspired by the Meroogal Drawing Room and materials used by the four generations of women from one local family who lived at Meroogal and cared for the house. They led busy and fulfilled lives, and their daily routines encompassed domestic chores and the pursuit of their own genteel interests and talents. Furniture, household objects, diaries, letters, scrapbooks, photographs and clothes create a personal insight into the more private world of the family.
In the drawing room they made full-skirted dresses, clothing, decorative pillowcases white-on-white embroidery and lace collars. This exhibition focusses on the various lace crafts.
Exhibition Saturday 18 October, 10am – 5pm.
