Mindful Art Kintsugi Workshop
Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese craft repairing broken ceramic objects with lacquer and gold dust based on the Zen philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection. Much-loved, worn items are sustainably transformed into beautifully crafted new art pieces, rescuing objects that would otherwise be discarded.
The small group introductory workshops teach kintsugi fundamentals including history and using tools. Each participant takes home their own piece of original kintsugi art. No experience and art skills necessary; all tools and materials provided including items to repair.
Workshops Thursday 17 October, 3-7pm and Sunday 20 October 10am – 2pm (age over 18, not recommended if pregnant). See website for all event and booking details.
