Tangible, The Society of Arts and Crafts of NSW

The Society of Arts and Crafts of NSW exhibition at the Balmain Watch House is titled Tangible, meaning ‘able to be touched’; appropriate in this world of increasing AI. With this theme exhibitors want to highlight their understanding of materials and creativity with pieces that are unique, tactile and tangible, inviting to touch. A strong counterpoint to mass produced items.

The Society of Arts and Crafts of NSW is the longest continuously running craft organisation in Australia, celebrating 120 years in 2026. Since 1906 their aim has been to promote an Australian identity in the creation of craftworks.

Exhibition Saturday 11 – Saturday 18 October, 11am – 4.30pm Sunday 19 October 11am – 3pm; Opening Friday 10 October, 4 - 6pm.
