Maggie Hensel-Brown, Installation view Seeing Red.

Thread Through

An exhibition and live demonstration, delving into the meditative process of needle lace making with Maggie Hensel-Brown. Needle lace is a painstaking, detailed medium which has historically been used to tell grand stories, biblical tales or royal lore. Maggie uses the medium to tell more intimate, personal stories of contemporary life.

Maggie will be present in the gallery working on a small piece with progress being live streamed and will also be holding a two-day introductory workshop and hosting a talk about lace, historical and contemporary.

Exhibition Friday 6 October – Sunday 5 November, 10am – 3pm daily
Live Demonstration Friday 6 October – Friday 13 October 10am – 3pm daily (except Tuesday)
Craft Up Late Talk Wednesday 11 October, 6.45pm
