There are so many great craft events taking place all year round in Sydney. Here’s our list of some of the major events happening this year – get out your diaries and take note!

7– 9 February: Craft Alive Penrith

CraftAlive is in Penrith for 3 big days for the first time!

Saturday 15 February: Sydney East Art Walk
A self guided Art Walk. Explore, engage, discover some of Sydney's leading Art Galleries and Art Spaces. 12 - 4pm.

26 March – 27 May: Made/Worn: Australian Contemporary Jewellery

28 March: ADC Makers Market
Australian Design Centre, 101-115 William Street, Darlinghurst
Handmade, designed and collectible pieces including textiles, jewellery, ceramics and homewares.

3 – 14 April: Sydney Royal Easter Show
Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park
Features the biggest Arts & Crafts competition in Australia.

18 – 22 April: Arts Muster
Korowal School in Hazelbrook, Blue Mountains NSW
Arts Muster 2020 will offer classes in textiles, basketry, printing, book binding, felting, slow fashion, mosaics, leather work, whittling, and more.

22 – 24 May: Finders Keepers Sydney
The Cutaway, Barangaroo Reserve, Hickson Road, Barangaroo
The Finders Keepers markets features over 200 independent art and design stalls.

29 May – 19 July: Ceramix The Australian Ceramics Association Exhibition
Manly Art Gallery and Museum, Sydney
CERAMIX is an exhibition that invites ceramic-based artists to work in collaboration with invited artists of their choice, working in other mediums, to create new works.

1 – 12 June: Palm House 2020 Exhibition: Interlude

ATASDA Textiles exhibition.

4 June – 29 July: Tamworth Textile Triennale
Australian Design Centre, 101-115 William Street, Darlinghurst
Tamworth Textile Triennial, held every three years, showcases the best of textile art from across the country, attracting artist participation from all states in Australia.

6 June – 12 July: Festival of Lace

We’re setting sail again for our third Guild Knitting / Crochet Cruise. Lots of crafting and workshops and the bonus of great P&O food and entertainment.

The Cutaway, Barangaroo Reserve, Hickson Road, Barangaroo
3 big days. 200+ big stallholders. 1 big design event.

9 – 18 October: Sydney Craft Week
Venues around Sydney 
Our festival returns for the fourth year with the theme “change makers”.
Includes Australian Design Centre exhibitions FUSE Glass Prize and Seed Stitch Contemporary Textile Awards.

The Knitters’ Guild NSW are organising another weekend of everything fibre, following on from the outstanding successes of their annual Fibrefest at Sacred Spaces since 2016.
